The Landon Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight defeat. They were dealt a 66-39 loss at the hands of Bullis. While losing is never fun, Landon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 44th, while Bullis is ranked third).
Landon lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Aristeides John Hobson, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Francis Mannino, who scored 16 points.
Landon has not been sharp recently as the team has lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season. As for Bullis, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 21-2.
Landon will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Albans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Landon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Friday. As for Bullis, they will head out on the road to square off against St. Stephen's & St. Agnes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Stephen's & St. Agnes is on a four-game streak of home wins, Bullis a 14-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
