On the hitting side, Ellis Alexander was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. What's more, he posted three hits, the most he's had since back in March. Christophe DeWijkerslooth was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.
Jones always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Kenwood came out on top against Von Steuben on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run fifth inning. The Broncos blew past the Panthers 13-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Broncos.
Evan Stinson tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits.
At the plate, Kenwood let Jimmy Downs and Jonathan Patterson Jr run wild. Downs went 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI, while Patterson Jr went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Patterson Jr has become a key player for Kenwood: the team is 2-0-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-5-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Damaurion Butler, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Jones is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Kenwood, their win bumped their record up to 3-5-2.
