While it was all tied up 26-26 at halftime, the Valley Center Jaguars were not quite the Vincent Memorial Scots's equal in the second half on Saturday. Valley Center was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 59-58 to Vincent Memorial. Valley Center was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Vincent Memorial apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Despite the loss, Valley Center still got an impressive performance from Carson Yoder, who scored 25 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Yoder scored a full 43.1% of Valley Center's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevin Garcia, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Valley Center and nudges their season record down to 10-7. As for Vincent Memorial, they pushed their record up to 11-5 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valley Center will take on Westview at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Vincent Memorial, they will be playing at home against Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
