Vista Ridge is 1-9 against Falcon since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Vista Ridge Wolves will head out on the road to face off against the Falcon Falcons at 5:30 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Vista Ridge took care of business in their home opener on Wednesday (and then some). They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hinkley 98-11 at home. With Vista Ridge ahead 57-5 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Vista Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ajarae Gibbs, who scored 20 points along with 6 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Kaiser, who scored 13 points along with 8 assists and 6 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Falcon got the win against Pueblo East on Saturday by a conclusive 61-37. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Falcon.
Falcon's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Karly Ohlrich, who scored 18 points along with 5 steals, and Cobelyn Wiesner, who scored 18 points along with 7 assists and 5 steals. Cierra Barbary was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 4 steals and 4 blocks.
Vista Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Falcon, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
Vista Ridge came up short against Falcon in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 43-36. Can Vista Ridge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
