Ramapo has been on the road for two straight, but on Sunday they'll finally head home. Having just played yesterday, they will get right back to it and host the St. Mary Gaels at 5:00 p.m. on January 21st. Hopefully Ramapo focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Saturday.
On Saturday, Ramapo ended up a good deal behind St. Rose and lost 56-38. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Ramapo has scored all season.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Chris Cervino, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Seals, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, St. Mary put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 72-41 win over Hasbrouck Heights. Given St. Mary's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 61st, while Hasbrouck Heights is ranked 331st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ramapo's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for St. Mary, their win bumped their record up to 11-2.
Ramapo was able to grind out a solid win over St. Mary when the teams last played back in December of 2021, winning 62-51. Will Ramapo repeat their success, or does St. Mary have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
