Football Game Preview: Eaton Reds vs. Fort Morgan Mustangs + How To Watch

The Eaton Reds will take on the Fort Morgan Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Two weeks ago, Eaton humbled Platte Valley with a 40-7 victory. The victory continues a trend for the Reds in their matchups with the Broncos: they've now won five in a row.

Eaton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jackson Savona out in front who rushed for 106 yards and three touchdowns. Those 106 rushing yards gave Savona a new career-high. Another pass catcher making a difference was Max Blaskowski, who picked up 106 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Eaton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 232 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 168 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Eaton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Cameron Southard and Paxon Wilkinson-Greenly.

Meanwhile, Fort Morgan was able to grind out a solid victory over Skyview on Friday, taking the game 20-12.

Fort Morgan's defense made their presence known, laying out Carlos Carillo. three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Quintin Aleman, Jj Marquez, and Juan Sanchez-Calvillo Iii, who each picked up one sack apiece. Austin Hall got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Eaton now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Fort Morgan, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Eaton came out on top in a nail-biter against Fort Morgan when the teams last played back in September of 2024, sneaking past 14-12. Will the Reds repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
