The 2019 Florida high school football season is in the books and the final MaxPreps Computer Rankings have been produced.
Class 7A state champion St. Thomas Aquinas (15-0) finishes the season on top after a dominant run that included wins over West Coast powers De La Salle (Concord, Calif.) and St. Louis (Honolulu, Hawaii). The Raiders shut out seven opponents while scoring 40 or more seven times.
Independent powerhouse IMG Academy (9-1) earned the No. 2 spot. The Ascenders will be under new management next season as head coach Kevin Wright announced he will be moving on.
No. 3 Miami Central was as hot as any team in the state at the end of the season, putting the exclamation point on things by blasting Escambia 62-27 in the Class 6A state championship game.
The MaxPreps Computer Rankings take into account quality wins (against other highly ranked opponents) and strength of schedule. Playoff wins are weighted heavier than regular season games.
