Things were looking good for Burns after they put the first run on the board last Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Weiser by a score of 6-5.
Jack Wright and Wyatt Sewell stepped up to the plate in a big way. Wright went 1-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Sewell went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI. Jasper Skunkcap was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Taft strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came out on top against Grant Union by a score of 7-2.
Callen Ward was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2025. Hayden Weiss also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Taft's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Burns, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
