It was a good run, but the Holy Family Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their 21-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to Mead 51-46. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Holy Family has scored all season.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sawyer Dana, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dana has scored all season. Gracie Ward was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Mead found their leader in underclassman Madi Clark, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Darby Haley, who scored 12 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Holy Family's loss ended a eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-1. As for Mead, they pushed their record up to 12-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
Holy Family will take on Greeley West at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Greeley West will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 225th, while Holy Family is ranked 16th). As for Mead, they will head out on the road to challenge Windsor at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Windsor has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 208 points over their last three matches.
