Morrow extended their losing streak to seven on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-17. They came up short against the Langston Hughes Panthers, falling 22-13. Even if the Mustangs couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
Preston Ward III and Antwan Walker did some serious damage despite the final result: Ward III got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base, while Walker went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Christian Randolph was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
As for Langston Hughes, the victory snapped their losing streak at ten games and leaves them with a 5-18 record. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On Langston Hughes' side, Korey Jones looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Jones also tossed a walk, which is notable because the Panthers are 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-17 otherwise.

The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two). Another player making a difference was Cody Coleman, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Looking ahead, Morrow will square off against Forest Park at 5:55 p.m. on Wednesday.
