The Pascagoula Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Hancock Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Pascagoula's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last three games.
Pascagoula's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Pearl River Central 42-0. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Panthers just coasted through the last quarter.

Amarie Jackson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 193 yards and three scores. He is becoming a predictor of Pascagoula's success: when he posts at least 100 rushing yards the team is 2-1 (and 1-4 when he doesn't). Sean Norvel helped out on the ground, rushing for 111 yards and a rushing touchdown.
Pascagoula's run defense was locked in: Pearl River Central could only muster 1.6 yards per carry. The team can thank Jonathan Shelby Jr for the heroic effort on defense: he. Pascagoula's run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed 4.06 yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 11 on average over their last five games.
Pascagoula's defense also made the game a nightmare for Titus Feaster, racking up seven sacks. Emauri Anderson was especially locked on to Pearl River Central's QB and sacked him twice. Pascagoula got some further help from Shelby Jr: he picked up a sack and made seven total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Hancock posted their closest victory since October 11, 2024 on Friday. They won a contest that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Gautier 28-27.
Pascagoula better keep an eye on Kaison Koenenn. He was instrumental in Hancock's win, rushing for 105 yards and three TDs, while also throwing for 175 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Hancock didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Jayden Dekle led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself.
Pascagoula's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-5. As for Hancock, their record now sits at an identical 3-5.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Pascagoula has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 189.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Hancock struggles in that department as they've been averaging 195.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Pascagoula strolled past Hancock in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a score of 42-27. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
