Baseball Recap: Anderson's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak at Home

Anderson had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 20-run drubbing they dealt Liberty Christian on Tuesday. The Indians never let the Lions get on the board and left with a 20-0 win. With that victory, the Indians brought their scoring average up to 8.8 runs per game.

Cole Roberts and Hunter Anderson made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Roberts struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Anderson tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. At bat, Roberts scored three runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances, while Anderson got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI. Roberts also put up three RBI, which were his first of the season.

In other batting news, Anderson let Kadyn Kendall and KeAvon Burt run wild. Kendall went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Burt scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Burt has posted since back in March of 2024. Branson Hemme was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

Anderson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .649. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Liberty Christian only posted an OBP of .133.

Anderson's win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-2. As for Liberty Christian, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Anderson will host Richmond at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Indians' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Liberty Christian, they will face off against Muncie Burris at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
