The Casa Roble Rams and the San Ysidro Cougars will face off at 6:00 p.m. on December 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Casa Roble knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 games -- so hopefully San Ysidro likes a good challenge.
Casa Roble pushed their score all the way to 60 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were outmatched by Faith Lutheran on the road and fell 88-60. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Casa Roble has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Casa Roble had strong showings from Travis Remly, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds, and Benny Ambriz, who scored 18 points. Ambriz scored a full 30% of Casa Roble's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Moses Oginni, who scored seven points.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 91-41, which was the final score in San Ysidro's tilt against Victory Christian Academy on Friday. While losing is never fun, San Ysidro can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 943rd, while Victory Christian Academy is ranked 324th).
Casa Roble has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season. As for San Ysidro, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.
