In what's become a running theme this season, the River Valley Panthers gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They breezed by Purchase Line on the road to the tune of 60-21. The victory was familiar territory for River Valley who now have five in a row.
It was another big night for Ava Persichetti, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of River Valley's points. Rylee Kitner was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Despite the loss, Purchase Line still got an impressive performance from Jianna Hopkins, who scored 12 points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Purchase Line struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as River Valley racked up 13 assists.
River Valley's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Purchase Line, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.
River Valley will head out on the road to challenge Northern Cambria at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Northern Cambria will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 543rd, while River Valley is ranked 103rd). As for Purchase Line, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Blacklick Valley at 6:30 p.m. Blacklick Valley is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.2 points per game.
