The Eagle's View Warriors entered their tilt with the Stanton Blue Devils with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. Eagle's View was the clear victor by a 62-42 margin over Stanton. Eagle's View has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 20 points or more this season.
Eagle's View's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kenneth Berry led the charge by scoring 13 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Justis Clements, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Stanton lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Raza Cottey, who scored eight points along with 15 rebounds and three blocks. Cottey is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was David Burton, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Eagle's View pushed their record up to 11-4 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Stanton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eagle's View will take on West Nassau at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Nassau will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 775th, while Eagle's View is ranked 361st). Stanton won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Baldwin at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. Baldwin comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
