The Cranberry Area Berries are taking a road trip to take on the Franklin Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Cranberry Area is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
Franklin will be up against a hot Cranberry Area team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Berries blew past Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley 10-0 on Tuesday.

Alex McIntyre made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Cranberry Area is 3-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 5-6-1 otherwise. McIntyre was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2025.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lincoln Galla, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Connor Morrow, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Cranberry Area always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley only posted an OBP of .118.
Meanwhile, Franklin came up short against Oil City on Wednesday, falling 13-2. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Franklin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Marsteller, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Cranberry Area now has a winning record of 8-7-1. As for Franklin, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.
Cranberry Area couldn't quite finish off Franklin in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 and fell 11-9. Can the Berries avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
