Tati Chavez was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Moriah Husted, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Wheaton Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .733. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Aurora Christian only posted an OBP of .484.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Harvest Christian Academy). They were the clear victors by a 32-22 margin over Christian Liberty on Wednesday.
The team relied heavily on Kenzie Weidman, who fired off three stolen bases, eight RBI, and five runs while going 5-for-5. Ella Schoenberg was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
Harvest Christian Academy pushed their record up to 7-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 22.3 runs over those games. As for Wheaton Academy, their record is now 5-6.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Wheaton Academy hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game.
