On Saturday Laurel will take on High Point at 2:00 PM. Laurel are expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the match prepared for a fight.
Laurel have had to suffer through a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Surrattsville with a sharp 21-0 victory. The Laurel offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the contest anyway.
Meanwhile, after a dominant win in their game two weeks ago, High Point were humbled last Friday. They suffered a grim 7-35 defeat to Fairmont Heights. The blowout was painful but not necessarily a suprise as Fairmont Heights enjoys a considerable advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
Laurel's victory lifted them to 2-5 while High Point's loss dropped them down to 2-5. In their victory, Laurel relied heavily on junior Jaheem Williams, who rushed for 89 yards and 2 touchdowns. High Point will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
