This week's postseason action didn't throw the rankings into complete disarray, but it did reorder the standings a decent amount. A special shoutout goes to Highland's senior Garrett Marti, who scored seven total touchdowns in the team's most recent match.
Banging Down the Door
The power rankings welcomes a newcomer to the scene as Carlinville earned the 22nd spot after its strong showing last week. It got a somewhat close 40 - 36 victory over St. Teresa. No one had a larger role in the success than junior Jarret Easterday, who brought his A game into the contest. He threw for 243 yards and four touchdowns.
Have a Day
Highland got a 57 - 14 win over Effingham last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Garrett Marti. Marti tossed the ball for 358 yards and six TDs. That performance landed Marti among the top power-ranked players for the week.
Points Galore
The Vianney offense has been a force to be reckoned with this season, and last week was no different. It had all the answers against Jackson, winning 71 - 50. Vianney made sure to walk the walk to justify being talked up as the big favorite. At 121 total points, this was the highest scoring power ranking game of the week.
Upcoming Drama
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Christian Brothers (3rd in the power rankings) and Eureka (1st). The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games. Eureka and Christian Brothers both have plenty of landslide victories under their belts (Eureka with eight and Christian Brothers with ten), but only one can come away triumphant this week. We'll find out who that is soon.
