Given Gibsland-Coleman's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 139th, while Claiborne Christian is ranked 286th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Gibsland-Coleman got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was DeAvery Durham out in front who scored 29 points along with eight steals and seven rebounds. Durham has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Demarquis Durham, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds.
Gibsland-Coleman is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season. As for Claiborne Christian, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 17-12.
