Basketball Recap: Eau Gallie Snaps 17-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Eau Gallie hadn't done well against Melbourne Central Catholic recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Eau Gallie Commodores sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 52-50 victory over the Melbourne Central Catholic Hustlers. The Commodores have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hustlers, too.

Among those leading the charge was Jay Latson, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 17 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cohin Worthy, who went 7 for 14 on his way to 15 points and three steals.

Eau Gallie was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Melbourne Central Catholic only racked up nine assists.

Melbourne Central Catholic lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tristan Hamilton, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Grady Bonenberger, who had nine points and three steals.
