Vincennes Lincoln has won three straight games at home, while North Posey has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Alices will welcome the Vikings at 6:30 p.m. Vincennes Lincoln is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.
Vincennes Lincoln came out on top against Bloomfield on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Alices took their contest against the Cardinals 7-3.
Bradie Turpin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Emma Cunningham, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Mia Hagood, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, North Posey won against Mt. Carmel on Tuesday with three runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Vikings won by a run and slipped past Southridge 3-2. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
North Posey also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Alyssa Heath gave up just two earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Paige Vaughn was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.
Vincennes Lincoln has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for North Posey, their win bumped their record up to 12-4.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Vincennes Lincoln hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .361. However, it's not like North Posey struggles in that department as they've averaged .375. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Vincennes Lincoln suffered a grim 14-0 defeat to North Posey in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Alices have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
