Basketball Recap: Carrizo Springs Extends Winning Streak to Three

Carrizo Springs strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They strolled past the Bandera BULLDOGS with points to spare, taking the game 50-35. The Wildcats pushed the score to 46-25 by the end of the third, a deficit the BULLDOGS cut but never quite recovered from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Carrizo Springs to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jai'Leah Arambula, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 12 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. What's more, Arambula posted three assists, the most she's had since back in November of 2024. Melanie Davila was another key player, shooting 50% from the field en route to 15 points and five steals.

Carrizo Springs smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Carrizo Springs' win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Bandera, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Looking ahead, Carrizo Springs is taking a road trip to challenge Eagle Pass at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bandera, they will face off against Hondo at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
