The Brookland-Cayce Bearcats extended their postseason success on Friday against the Philip Simmons Iron Horses. They blew past the Iron Horses 34-14. Winning may never get old, but Brookland-Cayce sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Philip Simmons' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Markellis "kj" Asbury, who rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown. Asbury hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for four straight games.
Brookland-Cayce's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 24.64 points. As for Philip Simmons, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-2.
Brookland-Cayce will take on Crestwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Crestwood is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Philip Simmons does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
