The Marian Mustangs lost to Regina back in January, but the Marian Mustangs didn't allow Regina the same satisfaction on Tuesday. Marian secured a 55-49 W over Regina. Given Marian's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while Regina is ranked 305th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Marian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mckenzie Swanson, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds. The matchup was Swanson's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Molly McLeod, who scored 19 points.
Marian pushed their record up to 4-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Regina, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Marian will be home for the holidays to greet St. Mary at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Regina, they will head out on the road to face off against Grosse Pointe North at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Grosse Pointe North is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
