On Tuesday, the Cherry Creek Bruins faced the Regis Jesuit Raiders in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Cherry Creek snuck past Regis Jesuit with a 60-56 victory. The victory was familiar territory for Cherry Creek who now have three in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cherry Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tianna Chambers, who scored 23 points along with three steals. A'neya Chambers was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Regis Jesuit lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Hana Belibi, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Coryn Watts, who scored 19 points.
Cherry Creek's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Regis Jesuit, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.
Cherry Creek will be playing at home against Doherty at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Doherty is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Regis Jesuit, they will head out on the road to take on Chaparral at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Chaparral focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Tuesday.
