The Denbigh Patriots will square off against the Norview Pilots at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Denbigh is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Denbigh will bounce into Wednesday's matchup after beating Woodside, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Patriots came out on top against the Wolverines by a score of 11-7 on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Patriots considering their one-run performance the game before.
Alieyah Bullock was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Kate Stephanie Fallejo, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Denbigh lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Norview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 13-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of Manor.
Valerie Miranda made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI and one double.
The win made it two in a row for Denbigh and bumps their season record up to 6-13. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Norview, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Denbigh has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Norview struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Denbigh's way against Norview in their previous matchup back in April, as Denbigh made off with a 17-10 win. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pilots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
