The Cromwell Cardinals won the last time they faced the Mesabi East Giants, and things went their way on Thursday too. Cromwell managed a 51-45 win over Mesabi East.
Cromwell can attribute much of their success to Emaleigh Olesiak, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Mya Gronner was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Cromwell's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for Mesabi East, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-5.
Cromwell will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Floodwood at 7:15 p.m. on February 22nd. Mesabi East won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Barnum at 7:15 p.m. on January 19th. Barnum will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings (they are ranked 272nd, while Mesabi East is ranked 129th).
