The Antonito Trojans suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were dealt a 83-38 defeat at the hands of Centennial. Antonito has struggled against Centennial recently, as their contest on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Antonito's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Octavian Martinez, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Martinez has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jasiah Jiron, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Centennial to victory, but perhaps none more so than Devon Vigil, who scored 19 points along with nine assists and six rebounds. That's the first time this season that Vigil posted eight or more assists. Zach Jacquez was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 assists.
Antonito's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Centennial, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Antonito will head out on the road to take on Moffat at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Moffat will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Centennial, they will play host again and welcome Lake City Community, where tip off is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
