The South Pointe Stallions will take on the Dorman Cavaliers in a holiday battle at at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in South Pointe's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
South Pointe is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Carolina's top teams: Denmark-Olar, who was ranked tenth at the time (South Pointe was ranked second). South Pointe took their game on Thursday with ease, bagging a 76-32 win over Denmark-Olar. The Stallions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 44 points or more this season.

South Pointe relied on the efforts of Serenity Woods, who went 7 of 15 en route to 19 points and three steals, and Kaleigh Lucas, who went 6 of 12 on her way to 17 points and six rebounds. That's the most rebounds Lucas has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of JaNyia Cunningham, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
South Pointe smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Dorman lost to Riverside at home by a 60-44 margin on Friday.
South Pointe will have to contain Morgan White as she made an impact in Dorman's last game. She dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. White has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Autmn Dawkins, who posted eight points and six rebounds.
South Pointe pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.7 points per game. As for Dorman, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: South Pointe has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 32.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Dorman struggles in that department as they've been averaging 35.4 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
South Pointe strolled past Dorman in their previous matchup back in December of 2021 by a score of 64-50. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Dorman's Renasia Jeter-McKissick, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds. Now that she won't be playing on Saturday, will it be easier for South Pointe to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
