The Fox Lane Foxes will head out on the road to face off against the Eastchester Eagles at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, it was close, but Fox Lane sidestepped John Jay for a 24-21 victory. That's two games straight that Fox Lane has won by exactly three points.
Declan Connors had a dynamite game for Fox Lane, rushing for 231 yards and two touchdowns. Connors' longest rush was for an incredible 87 yards. Theo Friedman got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Eastchester put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They really took it to Greeley for the full four quarters, racking up a 54-7 victory on the road. Given Eastchester's advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 61st, while Greeley is ranked 275th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Fox Lane has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. As for Eastchester, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.
Fox Lane might still be hurting after the 35-13 defeat they got from Eastchester when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Can Fox Lane avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
