Everything went their way against KIPP Denver Collegiate on Thursday as Platte Canyon made off with a 42-18 victory. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Platte Canyon has managed all season.
Platte Canyon's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sydney Curtis, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Curtis has scored at least a third of Platte Canyon's points. Caley Erickson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Platte Canyon pushed their record up to 5-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for KIPP Denver Collegiate, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
Platte Canyon will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Fort Lupton at 12:30 p.m. Hopefully Fort Lupton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 36 on Thursday.
