Eldon strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They put the hurt on the Richland Bears with a sharp 13-2 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Mustangs considering their two-run performance the matchup before.
Rhett Bashore made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Bashore was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Bashore is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.
In other batting news, Khale Hammond was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson Gernenz, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Eldon's win bumped their record up to 3-0.
Looking ahead, Eldon will head out on the road to face off against Russellville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Richland, they will venture away from home to square off against Linn at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
