The Godby Cougars's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 65-20 win over FAMU DRS on the road. The team ran away with 53 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the victory.
Godby's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cristina Brown, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Brown continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Logan Cornelius, who scored 11 points.
Godby's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for FAMU DRS, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Godby's road trip will continue as they head out to face Madison County at 6:00 p.m. on January 18th. Madison County is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for FAMU DRS, they will head out on the road to take on Chiles at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
