The Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger Saints will challenge the Homestead Spartans at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 9-6 win over Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Saints.

Braxton Bermes made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Bermes wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Braden Aguirre, who scored a run while going 2-for-5. Aguirre also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season. Another was Jeremy Haynes, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Homestead entered their tilt with Fishers on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Tigers 5-3.
Luke Riha looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Will Karshner was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Homestead's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's game. The Saints have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Homestead, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger continue to outrun the ball?
Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger couldn't quite get it done against Homestead in their previous matchup back in May of 2022 as they fell 5-2. Can the Saints avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
