Softball Recap: Winters Drops Season-High Score on Willows

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Winters). They put the hurt on the Willows Honkers with a sharp 17-5 win on Tuesday. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Honkers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Winters got a massive performance out of Erika Garcia, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave Garcia a new career-high. Riley Nelson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Winters always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Willows only posted an OBP of .481.

Winters' win bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Willows, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-20.

Winters will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Honkers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
