Football Recap: Paxton Skates Past Minatare with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against South Platte, Paxton was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Minatare Indians 56-6. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Maddex Mcconnell had an outrageously good game as he picked up 91 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack, forcing two fumbles, and making six total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Paxton proved: they limited Minatare to a paltry -3.8 yards per carry. While one picked up at least six total tackles, Mcconnell stood above the rest. He picked up 91 receiving yards and three scores. Paxton didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 9.3.

Paxton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Jesse Connick.

Paxton's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Minatare, they now also have a losing record of 1-2.

After each having a week off, Paxton and Wauneta-Palisade will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on the 26th. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Broncos have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Minatare, they will face off against Arthur County at 7:00 p.m. on the 25th. This will be the Indians' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
