The Triton Hawks posted their biggest win since December 15, 2023 on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Western Harnett as Triton made off with a 56-34 victory. Given Triton's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 236th, while Western Harnett is ranked 618th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Triton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ahmad Morris, who scored eight points along with six rebounds. Morris continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was B. J. Surles, who scored 11 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Triton and bumps their season record up to 12-5. As for Western Harnett, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-16.
Triton will head out on the road to take on E.E. Smith at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully E.E. Smith focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 last Monday. As for Western Harnett, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Harnett Central at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Harnett Central is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
