After losing to the Tempe Prep Knights the last time they met, the Heritage Academy Heroes decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Heritage Academy took down Tempe Prep 70-54 on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Heritage Academy.
Heritage Academy was led to victory by Danye Sypho and Cameron Irby. Sypho scored 27 points along with eight rebounds, while Irby scored 30 points along with nine rebounds and seven assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which Irby has scored at least 25% of Heritage Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Goy Ruach, who scored six points along with ten rebounds.
Heritage Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Tempe Prep, they bumped their record down to 3-7 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Heritage Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Fountain Hills at 12:00 p.m. on December 29, 2023. Fountain Hills is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Tempe Prep, they will be playing at home against Phoenix Country Day at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Phoenix Country Day is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
