On Friday Albany will take on Vallejo at 6:30 PM. Albany are expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the contest prepared for a fight.
The match between Albany and Pinole Valley last Friday was not a total blowout, but with Albany falling 14-32, it was darn close. A silver lining for Albany was the play of senior Mario Jones, who accumulated 196 passing yards and picked up 41 yards on the ground. That makes it three straight good games in a row from Jones.
Meanwhile, Vallejo might have drawn first blood against Bethel, but it was Bethel who got the last laugh. Vallejo have to be aching after a bruising 7-28 loss to Bethel. Vallejo's low-scoring defeat was the unsatisfying follow-up to their high-scoring outing the game before.
With the two teams each stumbling in off of a loss, both will be hungry for the win. We'll see which team satisfies their hunger and which team leaves with an empty stomach.
