Hamilton Heights had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 29-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lapel Bulldogs on Friday. Despite the loss, Hamilton Heights still got an impressive performance from Drew Woodruff, who threw for 290 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a rushing score. 114 of those passing yards were hauled in by Tyler Champion.
Even if they lost, Hamilton Heights' defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Michael Cain.
Lapel got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Rylie Hudson out in front who picked up 141 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Hamilton Heights will take on Triton Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lapel, they will face off against Frankton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
