If Bryan Station wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Sayre, they should've done a better job of containing Brooke Barntsen. The Spartans narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Defenders 3-2 for which the team can thank Barntsen, who had 31 kills, 14 digs, and one block. Barntsen is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least 13 every time she's taken the court this season.
Sayre took Bryan Station into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 28-16, 17-25, 25-18, 15-13.

Leading Sayre to victory were Eli Powell and Jace Spencer. Powell had ten kills, ten digs, four aces, and one block, while Spencer had 13 digs and six aces. That's the most digs Powell has posted over her last two matchups. Decker Kok was another key player, getting 11 assists and six digs.
They weren't the only good servers: Sayre was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.
Despite the loss, Bryan Station still got an impressive performance from Lily Howard, who had 14 digs and two aces.
Sayre is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-5 record this season. As for Bryan Station, their defeat ended a four-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-15.
Sayre wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Scott County on the 9th. As for Bryan Station, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Frederick Douglass on the 9th.
