After some red-hot point totals in their last 4 games, Wynot fizzled out on Friday. They were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap, as they fell 8-14 to Randolph. The low total for Wynot limited their streak of high-flying scores to 4 in a row.
Wynot's defeat came about despite a quality game from senior Landon Wieseler, who picked up 82 yards on the ground and accumulated 187 passing yards. In fact, with nine tackles Wieseler was a force on both sides of the ball. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse senior Nate Wieseler, who racked up 17 tackles.
The loss dropped Wynot's record to 2-3. The victory bumped Randolph's record up to 5-0.
Wynot will stay at home next week against Hartington-Newcastle at 7:00 PM. Both of those teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'. Randolph will take on Bloomfield at home at 7:00 PM. Each of these teams will be battling to keep their five-game winning streak alive.
