Baseball Recap: Florence Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Florence barely beat Pisgah the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Florence Eagles put the hurt on the Pisgah Dragons with a sharp 11-3 win on Friday. That looming 11-3 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Eagles yet this season.

Noah Reynolds and Andrew Woods were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Reynolds tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Woods pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024. At the plate, Reynolds went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI, while Woods went 2-for-5 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI Woods has posted since back in February of 2024.

In other batting news, Brady Griffin was incredible, scoring two runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Jaboris Buckley was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Florence kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Pisgah, their loss ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Florence will challenge Seminary at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Florence's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Seminary's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Pisgah, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Andrew's Episcopal at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
