Roane County proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 44) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tyler Knights, sneaking past 46-43. Winning may never get old, but the Raiders sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Roane County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Javon Letourneau, who rushed for 167 yards and two TDs while picking up 9.8 yards per carry. Letourneau showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 60 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Greathouse, who rushed for 144 yards and one score on only 11 carries.
Roane County's record now sits at 9-1. As for Tyler, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.
