The Gambell King Polar Bear had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 67-35 win over Koyuk Malimiut. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-9.
Gambell's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tristan Camppbell, who scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Camppbell has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tracy Tungiyan, who scored 12 points.
Gambell's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for Koyuk Malimiut, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-2.
Gambell will stay at home for another game and welcome James C Isabell at 7:00 p.m. on January 6th. Koyuk Malimiut does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
