Gianna Simon was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Alaina Dufresne, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Lower Cape May's offense. They lost 15-0 to Atlantic County Institute of Tech on Monday. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Tigers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Lower Cape May saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abigail Pellicano, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
Lower Cape May has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-9 record this season. As for Overbrook, their win bumped their record up to 11-15.
Friday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Overbrook has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .458. However, it's not like Lower Cape May struggles in that department as they've averaged .560. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
