For the first time this season, Eunice will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will square off against the Loving Falcons at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Eunice will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Eunice is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Melrose 18-11 on Monday. Considering the Cardinals have won four games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Luis Zamora made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Fernando Serna, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Tysen Jones was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Loving beat Non Varsity Opponent 16-11 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.
Loving got a big performance out of Exodus Fierro, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Shawn Austin, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Loving was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
The victory got Loving back to even at 3-3. As for Eunice, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 6-2.
Eunice came up short against Loving in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, falling 7-2. Can the Cardinals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
