After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Altamont, the Cornerstone Eagles were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They walked away with a 52-43 win over Vincent. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Cornerstone also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Abdul Lanier had an outrageously good game as he scored 20 points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. Jermaine Holder was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Cornerstone's win bumped their record up to 6-14. As for Vincent, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-13.
Cornerstone will head out on the road to challenge Minor at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Minor presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cornerstone in Alabama (Minor is ranked 79th, while Cornerstone is ranked 320th). As for Vincent, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Talladega County Central at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th.
