Two dominant backs in Cyle Kisner and Britton Walston are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Wellington Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Resurrection Christian Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Wellington is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 48-0 victory over Alamosa. The win was just business as usual for the Eagles, who after ten games remain undefeated this season.

Wellington's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brayton Meglen, who rushed for 143 yards and one TD on only six carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 80 yards. Tanner Gray was in the mix as well, providing Wellington with three scores.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Wellington proved: they limited Alamosa to a paltry two yards per carry. While two picked up at least four total tackles, Meglen stood above the rest. He rushed for 143 yards and one touchdown on only six carries. Wellington didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.3.
Wellington didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jaxson Pulley and Gray.
Meanwhile, Resurrection Christian never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past Denver West 49-0.
Wellington better keep an eye on Jaxson Pszanka. He was instrumental in Resurrection Christian's win, picking up 63 receiving yards and a pair of TDs, while also rushing for 36 yards and one score. Pszanka also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making four total tackles and defending one pass. Another player making a difference was Jackson Lucas, who threw for 111 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 88.9% of his passes.
Wellington's record is now 10-0. As for Resurrection Christian, their record now sits at 7-3.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Wellington has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 283.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Resurrection Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 161.7 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Wellington didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Resurrection Christian in their previous meeting back in October, but they still walked away with a 21-16 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Cougars' Walston, who rushed for 172 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 9.1 yards per carry, and also picked up 31 receiving yards. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Eagles still be able to contain Walston? There's only one way to find out.
